| DORM SUPERVISOR |
 |
We have dorm supervisors whose
responsibilities include insuring the security of the
dorm, organizing pizza and movies, Camp Bank, and contacting
University housing for any minor repairs necessary. The
supervisors will make sure campers are comfortable and
supervised if a camper must sit out a session in the dorm.
They will be your direct contact during camp and will
deliver your messages to your son. In addition to the
dorm supervisors who reside in the dorm, about 90% of
our Camp Coaches reside in the dorm. |
| MEDICAL
STAFF |
 |
As required, we have
certified NATA trainers on our various field locations
with assistants to attend to the medical needs of the
campers. A certified NATA trainer and assistants also
resides in the dorm. |
| CAMP
COUNSELORS |
 |
Camp Counselors will
be mostly UNC Men’s Varsity Soccer players. They have
many functions at Camp, primarily assisting coaches while
on the field and being the "buddy system" to the campers.
They help make Camp a fun place to be. All of the Camp
Counselors reside in the dorm. |
| RULES
FOR SAFETY |
 |
Camp Rules are posted on all of
our floors in the dorm. We strictly adhere to our rules
for good reason: it helps insure the safety of your son
and his overall positive Camp experience. We believe good
discipline begins at home, however, and would appreciate
you talking with your son about proper conduct while "on
his own" at Camp. We do not tolerate bullying and camp
staff will always remind campers about appropriate behavior.
If disciplinary action is required, only coaches will
be in charge of such action. Disciplinary measures could
range from giving an apology, picking up all the balls,
or running the perimeter of a field. Campers can be expelled
for breaking major rules such as being caught with drugs
or alcohol, leaving Camp without permission, or causing
bodily harm to himself or other campers. In this event,
parents are called to pick up their son immediately from
Camp. If you should have any questions regarding any of
these rules, please call the office and we’ll be happy
to talk with you about them. |

| INJURY
OR ILLNESS WHILE AT CAMP |
 |
In the event of an injury
or illness, each camper will be evaluated by the head,
NATA certified, trainer. He/She may recommend that your
son sit out a session or re-visit the trainer before the
next session. Your son should follow the advice of the
trainer as it is in his best interest to do so. If your
son has not registered a complaint, the trainer cannot
always know that something is wrong just by looking at
a camper. In the event the trainer recommends your son
see a physician, the trainer will try to contact you immediately.
If your son was seen by the trainer at Camp, a note will
come home stating the reason for the evaluation. Please
have your son prepared to drink a lot of fluids (water,
Gatorade, etc.) as heat related injuries are most common
in the summer. In the event of injury or illness while
at Camp, your son will be taken to the UNC Hospital located
less than a mile from both the dorm and the fields. It
will be necessary for the insurance information that you
provide on the Medical Release Form to be accurate. |
| INSURANCE |
 |
Our Camp carries excess
medical insurance only. If you are uninsured, our Camp’s
coverage would become your primary coverage in the event
of illness or injury at Camp. If you sustain high medical
bills because of an injury or illness which occurred at
Camp, our coverage would help lessen the burdens of those
costs. Should you use our insurance, there is a $100 deductible
for which you are responsible and is addition to any deductible
you may already have with your primary insurance. Should
you need a claim form after Camp, please call the office
and we will send you one. |
